As if you haven’t already figured it out.
TD hosts my website and blog space, so we’ve been talking nearly constantly for about 8 months.
After the initial techie stuff with setting up this blog was finished, we started just talking. AIM, text, Skype - we communicated nearly every day.
About 2 months ago, we figured out that we had Spring Break at the same time. I talked it over with Tex briefly (whom you’ll remember I was still seeing at that time), and he was like, “Cool - you’ll have a friend in town.” TD booked his flight, and we made plans for the week (only two of which actually happened, thanks to the weather that he apparently saw fit to bring down with him).
It was completely a friendly thing. No romantic intentions - he wanted to get out of Detroit, I wanted to have company, and we’d talked so much that it just seemed logical to open my home to him and geek out with our boomsticks and computers.
Well, long story short, I’ve booked a flight to Detroit over Easter weekend (I have Thursday through Monday off, since I go to a Catholic school).
I’m sure you can all figure that one out - you’re smart people.
And Tam, we’re both buying you a beer at the Blog Bash, since your comment section started it all.

:-) I wish you the same as I found….
Teh Sexxors?
Yeah, I kinda saw that coming …
BTW, if you want a soda in Detroit, you have to ask for “pop”.
Good for ya.
Carteach0 - :-)
Rusty - Yeah, if you HADN’T suspected something, I would worry about you…haha. I’m totally going to ask for a “soda” while I’m up there and see what happens. :-)
Ahhh, blogosphere love.
It reminds me of…me.
Congratulations, you two.
Isn’t Detroit the murder capitol/most dangerous city/most depressed/filthiest/most destroyed place on earth? I’ve not heard one single good thing about Detroit in years with the exception of your friend! Please be careful and make sure you are always escorted by heavily armed body guards!
Heh.
Good luck, you crazy kids! :)
AD - It’s happening everywhere! Thanks. :-)
JP - Actually, that distinction falls to Memphis, my current city. I wish I was joking.
Tam - Thanks. :-)
Yay! (totally not a surprise though, you seem to be a really good match.)
Good luck!
Congrats and good luck.
You two prove the good side of the saying “Most couples deserve each other’ :)
Well done, you!
For some reason I have not seen fit to check out you site until now. I do check out Tam’s site regularly though. If you ever watch “48 hours” on A&E, you can’t help but notice that Memphis and Detroit both get a lot of time, as well as Miami. I can’t help but watch it, as my wife loves the show and we both grew up in Memphis, and like to check out the crime locations and the people involved. We live in Oxford now.
Your school has always been in a crime ridden area, even when I visited my friends to walk to Overton Square for drinks, in the late 70’s and early 80’s. That really dates me now doesn’t it.
Good luck!
Yep, blogger love is breakin’ out everywhere…I am waiting on mine to call me back right now.
Congrats, you two.
I was trying to be “meme funny”, but I guess it didn’t work…
Coolness! Felicitations. Also “Welcome to Yankeeland.”
While you’re in Motown, if you’re hit with the desire for a really killer sub sandwich, go to Gonella’s, on Oakwood Blvd by Fort and the River Rouge. Was intro’d to ‘em about 25 years ago on a business trip there.
Breda - Thanks!
Bob S. - Aww, thanks.
Phlemmy - *bows* Thank ya, ma’am!
srone - yeah, I live in a pretty crappy area of town. The most dangerous street corner in the US is only like, 10 minutes from my house. Yay?
Pistolero - Aww…and thanks!
Dontkillme - did you get my email?
Roberta - I look forward to invading the North. Again.
Old Man - Duly noted - I’ll ask TD about it. Thanks!
