Listen up, Tennessee Gunnies
Jesse tells us that there’s a bill trying to get pushed through by a couple of Memphis Senators that would make serialization of ammunition required by January of 2009.
It’s called the “Ammunition Accountability Act”. (HB3245/SB3395)
Check out The Lone Libertarian for details and information on who to write to make sure this stays pushed to the side.
I don’t feel remiss in saying that this is absolute horseshit. I can barely afford ammo as it is. Perhaps I should start buying it on the black market, hmm? Apparently that’s what the state is pushing for. Do you think the government really does get a cut of private criminal sales or something? There’s no rational explanation for why they keep making it harder and harder for law-abiding citizens to exercise their rights. None. So we might as well start making gross accusations, because that’s what they’re doing to us.
Anyway, I’m writing when I get home from work this afternoon, and I hope you guys will, too.

because the answer to everything is less liberty and more laws! i think most state congresses and the fed legislature should be put on permanent vacation. Or called in only as needed. Lots of time with nothing to do but make laws has not worked out well.
ATLien - that used to be the case. Congress convened for a period of time and then went back to their jobs in the real world.
It’d be nice if we didn’t have career politicians nowadays, but I suppose going back to the old method would create serious conflicts of interest in our mostly non-agrarian society.
Actually mike, it’s a grand idea. They make an honest living, then, and learn about economics at the same time! BRILLIANT!
