Observation.
I really hate watching Obama talk.
Holding your chin up? That’s one thing, and I agree that it can help carry your voice and make you look more competent.
Having your chin be consistently on level with your ears? Makes you look like a pompous jackass.
When looked at from the front while speaking, Obama consistently reminds me of the sketches of FAS babies that I saw in biology last semester - his ears appear to be really far down on his head because his chin is jutted out so far.
And while this says nothing of his political ability (because I could find better ways to snark about that, and they wouldn’t be based on an arbitrary opinion), it makes me hate him, just a little bit. Because he could fix it, and look like a normal human being, but he chooses to show us his neck and look down his nose at us.
Sorry, bub, I don’t react well to that, and I really fail to see how others do.

It’s funny that you mention this. A few weeks back I picked up the print version of The Onion for the train ride and they had a whole article about Obama’s head angle and facial expression and how it conveys different meanings. I’ll have to see if I can find it online.
Here it is:

THAT’S BRILLIANT!
With those ears, he’d have to look straight down to avoid it.
georgeh - Careful, that’s the Obamessiah you’re talking about…heh.
