I started a workout DVD today – it’s got two weekly workout schedules on it: one for upper body, and one for lower body. I’m going to alternate weeks for the next two months and see if I can’t drop this weight I’ve put on since school let out. So far it seems to be fun – the workouts differ from day to day, and tomorrow is a “rest day”, so we’ll just have to see how this is going to go.
The only problem thus far is with the cardio – I can’t do jumping jacks (no, seriously, I’m not kidding, I’m too heavy, and I’m afraid I’m going to knock the TV off of the stand – not to mention that my knees can’t handle that kind of stress), and the combinations in that section rely heavily on those, so I’m probably going to have to suck it up and finally get up early in the morning to ride my bike before work on the days that I’m scheduled to do cardio. Wah.
I’m marking off the days I work out on a calendar, and if I don’t miss a day until my birthday (August 9th, in case you want to buy me presents or something, har har), excluding the mandated rest days, I’m giving myself a spa day, because I’ve never had one.
Weight and measurement goals are fluid. I know that if I keep my activity level up, I will get results, and I’ve nearly given up predicting what my body is going to do, but I do expect to shrink, and that’s all I want.
I’m going to spend the rest of today loading things up into the attic, so I won’t be around until later this evening, if at all. I also have to run some errands (hardware store for more pesticide – wheeoooo!) and go through my clothes to get rid of the clothes that don’t fit me or that I haven’t worn in 2 years, once and for all. I already have a bag of clothes that traveled with me from Tex’s house that there’s no way in hell I’m going to wear again (fit-wise or style-wise), so that’s a start.
Hooray for productivity!
Shower first, though. I stink.
