Gun Blog Black List

Things I’ve learned in the past couple of weeks.

1.  Your gallbladder can pass stones without it hurting you.  It can also pass stones that are painful enough to make you cry.  Prescription antacids are apparently helpful for giving your body a chance to heal after one of these experiences.

2.  TaB is Coke Zero with the aftertaste of Diet Coke.  For some reason, I like it.  I don’t know why I’ve never tried it before, except that for some reason I always thought it was pink, and it reminded me of trashy aerobics instructors from the 80s.  I realize this is probably not the best beverage for me, what with my having to take antacids and whatnot.  I’ll live with the gut rot, though, for the caffeine.  Now is NOT the time for me to wean myself off of it.

3.  It’s really hard to get a lesson together for a class.  I have new respect for my professors now.  Well, some of them, at least.  I teach my first class on Wednesday, and it’s taken me a long time to get my presentation to be long enough to take up the entire class period.

4.  I haven’t been able to shave my legs in a while because of a skin injury.  I’ve never been very compulsive about it in the past, but now?  OMG GIVE ME A RAZOR, PLS.  It’s probably going to be a few more days.  I feel like a wookie.

___

Okay, so I haven’t learned a whole lot.  I’m really distracted lately, with school and illness and family issues happening all over the place.  I’ve been trying to get blog posts together for a while, but have been unable to do it.  Everything I say somehow sounds like whining.

There have been good things happening, though – don’t get me wrong.  It’s just that the good things don’t require attention, and the bad things do.  So, you know.  Flat tires, broken windows, calling family to let them know hospital contact info, blown fuses, etc., are a total time-suck.

If you’re a happy-thoughts kind of person, send some my grandmother’s way.  She was discovered to have a pulmonary embolism this weekend, and while she’s doing okay now, she’s 82 years old, and isn’t as strong as she used to be.

I’m in another “don’t feel like writing about things” time, so posts will continue to be few and far between.

funny, you don’t LOOK like a wookiee. ;)

they’re sending gma home with oxygen and a walker, but when i asked the doctor to tell her to slow down, he said “no way!”.

    thanks a lot, doc.

At the moment, my preferred caffiene beverage is diet green iced tea. It’s only got about 11mg/8oz, but it’s also a lot easier on my innards than colas or Mountain dew.

I swear unto thee: Ultra-Violet Diet Mountain Dew. The uberbeverage of choice right now. That, and Pibb Zero.

    Tasty.
