Too casual of a mention?

I find it funny that no one commented on my earlier post with this blurb, but I actually do have to go to a specialist next week to find out if I have Asperger’s Syndrome. I’ll let you know how it goes. Should be interesting. So far I have a unanimous vote from the people I’ve already spoken with: “It’s so weird that your voice is so animated, because you show every other sign!” Good to know that I’m a freak in the land of freaks.

And they cut off the internet in the dorm when they said they would, so I’m in the computer lab. I walked here with a girl from my dorm, pepper spray in hand, even though I know it would do nothing against the dumbass who’s still at large in the area.

O GOD MY LIFE.

Bed time.

I just don’t see any problem with Social skills, verbal, written or otherwise! But them again I am safe behind my monitor. Please let us know how it goes and if different stages or classifications, treatment etc!

    OK?

It was noticed…. and worried about. You ain’t singing in the drak lady…..

    Let us know what happens.

  • Never noticed anything. Then again, I’m not really “Mister Sociable” either.

Hopefully, everything checks out, and you’re just unique – like everybody else. :-)

John – Practice. I prefer written communication because I can go over what I’ve written and revise it. As far as verbal communication goes, I’m really awkward, but I hate the phone, so not many people find that out. I rehearse my voice posts before I do them. Like it helps…heh.

Carteach – Well, I was sure someone saw it, but I guess I’m used to the land of LJ, where everyone goes, “OMG O NOES!” to everything. I’m only worried because if I don’t have AS, I still have to figure out what’s wrong, and that could take a while. But yeah, I’ll keep you updated. Thanks.

Rusty – I don’t know what to tell you there. I do have to work at it, though. I hate talking to people.

I won’t speak for anyone else who reads the blog… just myself.

I take you to be pretty damn intelligent human being, far more so than most. You are also about half full of snark, which is another big plus.

I’m not going to make any fuss and encourage you to dwell on *possible* issues….. no point.
You don’t seem like a person who needs the verbal cuddle yet… and offering it before it’s needed is insulting.

Notice? Yup. Think about it? Yup. Worry about it? Not yet, really. Keep you in thoughts and prayers? Yup. Wish I could help? Yup.

    I have faith in you.

I thought ass burgers left people like zombies unable to expand beyond any one interest until that one interest was completely exhausted. Like for instance, your guns…if you were unable to even concentrate on any school activities or blogging or all the other things you talk about, because you were so consumed with your new gun, perhaps you were an ass burger. What ever your problem is, it doesn’t really show itself here. You seem pretty normal to me.

  • sorry because i reply so late but I didn’t realized you have new blog. I also changed my link. have a nice day

Carteach – I’m trying to just not think about it too much until I can actually get in to see this guy. There’s a small possibility that I just have symptoms of other things that are combining to look like AS. Regardless, I have to make some changes, so I’m just going to try to focus on those for now instead of focusing on why those changes are needed, if that makes sense. And thanks. :-)

JP – Actually, Albert Einstein and Bill Gates were/are thought to have AS. Some people are just more afflicted than others, and if the person has a good adaptation and high intelligence, it’s nearly impossible to tell anything other than that they’re “awkward” in some way, and don’t do well socially.

Ropi – I thought you’d come by here before, but I guess I was mistaken. Well, welcome back, at any rate. :-)
