If I found out I had Alzheimer’s, and someone thought it would be a good idea to tag me, I’d do whatever was necessary to keep it from happening.
You know, of course, that “would only be used with the patient’s consent” is a temporary status for this device. I can’t imagine that it will remain that way for long. After all, how do we know someone diagnosed with Alzheimer’s is ever truly in their right mind? I mean, if their mind is going, how quickly will they be completely unable to make rational decisions for themselves? Better to tag them as soon as the diagnosis comes about. For their own good.

It would set a dangerous precedent.
Formerly Great Britain will sooner or later tag everyone, period. For their own safety, of course. That noise you’re hearing? That’s George Orwell spinning in his grave.
omg – this is one of the most horrifying stories I’ve heard in the news in yonks. And that’s really saying something, sadly.
Hammer – No shit, dude. I’d be tagged for being a damned Ginger Kid or something.
ibex – You couldn’t pay me to live over there, at all, for any reason.
Phlegmy – I agree.
