(additional edit below)
In my prep instructions, I was told I’d have to mix 8.3 ounces of what we’ll call ‘pipe cleaner’ with one gallon of Gatorade, and drink 8 oz. every 15 minutes. I thought I was going to have to drink 64 ounces of fluid over 2 hours.
I picked up a large bottle of Gatorade off the shelf and actually had a moment where, looking at it, I believed that 2 quarts was a gallon. All of my elementary school conversion? GONE.
So Forrest pulls out his phone to prove to me that there are 4 quarts (at 32 ounces each) in a gallon.
I’m still sitting there stubbornly saying, “No. No. No. I have to drink 64 ounces over 2 hours. 8 ounces every 15 minutes. 64 ounces. One gallon. 64 ounces,” even though my brain was going, “Oh, honey, no…”
Forrest very shortly confirmed for me that I will, in fact, be drinking 128 ounces. Over 4 hours.
8 ounces every 15 minutes. And I can’t take any of my medications, because they’re just going to be flushed right back out (though I’m taking my anti-fungal, because the recommended sports drink has a ton of sugar in it, and I’m not getting thrush from this stupid situation).
My second “dose” is in 4 minutes.
If you don’t hear from me by Wednesday night…Thursday at the latest…in lieu of flowers, I ask that you please consider donating to the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance. Or Kilted to Kick Cancer. Either/or.
[[ETA: I was right in the first place..."64 ounces" was in my head for a reason, and it's on the prep sheet that way. However, I've already divided the 'pipe cleaner' between two bottles, thus, I still have to drink them over 4 hours. FML.]]
